WHO: Clio, Much, Friar Tuck later
WHEN: Friday afternoon
WHERE: The Parsonage
WHAT: Cyte visits
WARNINGS: I doubt it

Clio still wasn't up to hanging out in public, but she had managed to go back to work. Thus, she felt comfortable enough to visit her friends and family as well, as long as their places were warded. She headed for the parsonage, keen on visiting the Friar, and even perhaps catching her Will if he happened to be there. Mostly, she just wanted to get out of the house.

She stood at the door, Ella knocking loudly since she was super excited about the idea of seeing 'Tucker'.

Much looked at her with both sympathy and understanding - alright, so it had been a long time since he was used as bait, but Much had imagination, he could take a stab at how shitty it was. "Hard same," he said. "Haaard same. And hey luckily-" he raised his tea cup like he was proposing a toast "-there are heaps of other places to hang out. Plus, there's puzzles for Ella here. Not many of those at Diogenes. Just... people puzzles."

"I love people puzzles," Clio said, smiling at him. "You helped with the search for Addy and Iestyn, right? You saw what Lucifer did to them?" Clio wondered, sometimes, if her sisters understood how truly terrified she was. If Much had seen Addy and Iestyn, he would understand.

"Yeah," he said grimly, lowering his voice even more so Ella would be less likely to catch wind of it. "The things those kids went through. It fucks me up." He pinched the bridge of his nose.

Things mortals went through under immortal hands, it fucked him up. No TikTok in the world was going to make him powerful enough to stop it, either.

"It fucks me up too," she whispered. "And I looked much the same when he was finished with me. Not this time. Before. Twice." Lucifer had gotten his hooks into her twice.

Much stared at her in horror as that sank in. But it was a huge thing to hear, and it had a long way to sink. "Twice?" he breathed, shaking his head a little, but unable to take his eyes off her, like he'd be able to see the marks of that on her (but it wasn't like he could see the marks on Marian, but they sure as shit were there.) He swallowed hard, and didn't know what to do, so passed her a chocolate biscuit.

Shit.

"I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't mean to-" she took the biscuit and she stared at it for a second. "I was just trying to- Context. Did-" Clio glanced over at Ella, who was still happily puzzling away. "Did Will tell you what happened? When Lucifer found us?"

Much looked at her in deep confusion. "Why are you sorry?" he asked, more puzzled than the thing Ella was playing with on the table. "He told us a bit. About-" should he say it? About Lucifer making her sit there while he burned her? Much didn't think he should, not with Ella so close. "Um - yeah, a bit."

Clio wasn't going to describe it out loud either, but she wanted Much to know. Not for her benefit, but for Will's. Will didn't talk about the things he'd been through, and he had been forced to sit still and watch while the woman he loved was tortured and assaulted.

"His hand was here," Clio whispered, laying her hand on her hip. "Really hot. And he did this-" she moved her hand upwards, clearly indicating where it had been headed. "And then Michael stopped him. Much," Clio put the damn cookie down and she reached for his hand. "Will couldn't move. And you know him, you know he doesn't talk about things. I just- I want to make sure he's okay."

Much's eyes widened, his face fighting a loosing battle with horror for a moment before he coughed, looked toward Ella then tried to cover it all up by putting a whole biscuit into his mouth.

He didn't let go of her hand, though. He twisted his so he could close his fingers around hers, holding it. "I 'ate 'at 'onsta," he said, emphatically, around the biscuit.

Why'd the world get Lucifer, and no Jesus, huh? Where was the fairness in that?

Much swallowed his mouthful in chunks, trying not to fall down a theological rabbithole. She was talking about Stutely, the point of this wasn't really about Lucifer or Jesus at all, but Stutely. "I think..." he said, trying to work out what he did think about Stutely and his mysterious feelings. "I think he's okay so long as you're okay."

Clio hated that monster too. And she was very grateful for Much's hold on her hand. "I think he thinks he's okay as long as I'm okay," Clio said quietly. "But he- His guilt complex- And being made to sit there- I don't know, I worry."

"Well, I dunno if he'd talk to me about it," Much said, thinking about how he'd even approach this with Stutely, but even as he said it he felt a bit like he was letting Clio down, and she'd done so much for them. If she was worried, he was going to try and do something to sort it out. "I can give it a go, though."

"You're right," she said gently, "maybe he won't. And if he doesn't want to it's okay. I just. Dear gods, Much, I love that man so much. And I can see these thoughts running through his head, about how he's not good enough or he should have tried harder, but it just would have gotten him- Not...here any more," she said, avoiding the word 'killed' with Ella there. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lay this all on you- I wish he could see himself the way I see him."

Much flapped his free hand in her general direction. "Stop, stop, you don't need to apologise - you know that's the second time you've said sorry to me? It's okay, we're mates, you can say stuff." He was about to launch into more questions about Stutely - did he really not think he was good enough? - but he wanted to make Clio took the 'mates' thing on board first, and he pointed at her, in a firm but friendly fashion, to make sure he did.

"But I am sorry," Clio laughed. "I appreciate it either way. Friends," she smiled brightly at him. "Which means you can say stuff too, should you ever need to."

"Well you don't have to be," Much said, laughing back, and returning her bright smile and offering her fist for a bump. Once bumped, though, his smile turned a little more seriously. "Does Stutely really not think he's good enough?"

...Shit. Did Will's friends not know!? "Has he...never expressed that to you?" Of course he hadn't, Will didn't talk about things. "It's not something he's said as much explicitly, it's just...the things he worries about. The things he says. I can tell he- Yes. He thinks he's not good enough. Which is ridiculous, because he's- He's everything. He's funny and kind and strong and sweet and he cares so much. And he is so hot."

"That is ridiculous," Much said, trying to think back over all his interactions with Stutely, at least since reuniting this most recent time. He thought he just worried about normal things, like the Sheriff, or Tuck being terrible at locking doors. "Yeah he's all those things! And I say this with love but, what a moron. Oh man. What do I do?" The question was rhetorical. Sort of. He wouldn't say no to some wisdom from Clio.

"I know he talks to Tuck sometimes," Clio said, smiling because Much called Will a moron. "Maybe just let him know he can talk to you? I think he tries to avoid it as much as possible but then he keeps it inside and it festers."

Much nodded, bottom lip sticking thoughtfully out. "Yeah, I'll sit him down, see how it goes... I'm not the greatest at trying to talk to the guys, though. Things come out all wrong. Last time I tried to talk to him and Tuck about something serious, I did it so badly I ended up insulting him."

"Oh no, you insulted the friar?" Clio sort of...reacted and asked at the same time. Because she was nosy, but didn't want to appear overly so.

"Oooh I accidentally insult Tuck all the time," Much said, wincing a little. "I talk to him like he's Scarlet and everything'll roll off his back, but it doesn't, and he gets this sad look and - well anyway, we always sort it out. Nah I mean I insulted Stutely. I uh-," another quick look at Ella, another check of his volume. "You know when things were going down between Marcie and Apollo, and I told the guys what was happening and said that they weren't allowed to tell anyone else. Meaning, their Musey girlfriends - sorry, I trust you now, but Marcie's safety came first - anyway he got upset because I accidentally implied he wouldn't feel guilty for keeping secrets. I see what I said wrong now, course, but when I'm in the moment I just talk, and sometimes what comes out isn't super well thought out. I get myself yelled at a lot."

The mental image of Tuck just looking so sad made Clio frown. Oh man, if he ever made that face at her she might break. When Much clarified though, she reached out for his hand. "I understand why you felt like it would be better kept from me. You're right. Marcie does come first. I can understand why Will was upset too, but you did the right thing."
