WHO Luna & Merlin WHEN Thursday night (25th March) WHERE Merlin's place WHAT Discussing boooooys WARNINGS mentions of sex, maybe actual sex but not currently
On Thursday, when Luna showed up for her regular appointment with Merlin, there was barely anything to been seen of the desperate, cagey, ready-to-crumble woman that had thrown herself at him just nine days ago. The Luna who showed up today was collected and fun, dressed in a flared knee-length purple coat and a pair of strappy heels in the same vibrant shade.
Once inside, Merlin got to discover that the only thing she was wearing under it was a rather sheer periwinkle lingerie set. Merlin had seemed very approving of the look, but by this hour it was long abandoned on the floor of his bedroom and Luna was now dressed in a short silk robe, her feet tucked up under her in the comfortable library seat she always enjoyed.
The book she'd found to hold her interest tonight was a collection of letters from a 17th century English explorer travelling through the Congo, and she'd decided to drink every time he derailed one of his own completely fascinating stories to make a patronizing comment about the 'child-like natives'. It was the recognized price of old anthropology books, and Luna had a very nice bottle of wine beside her.
Besides, there was an incredibly interesting woman who kept popping up and, despite the explorer including her exploits in the letters home, he'd never called her anything but 'our girl'.
"She just carried him across a river!" Luna said suddenly, after getting thought that part. She had been reading sections of the letters out loud to him when she was at an interesting part (many of them descriptions of the landscape and fauna) since he'd said it was one of the books in his collection he'd never read. "I was made much grateful to our girl for this act, as I had, by fortune, been told of the sure presence of water adders and wished not to tread myself upon one and succumb. My god, where is the full book about this woman carrying six foot explorers across rivers and hunting down gorillas for dinner? Amazing."
