“My Muses Met count is still quite low.” She knew Thalia by name only - the muse of comedy - but she was sure that Merlin was right about enjoying her. How could the muse of comedy be a bad time?
Luna reached across the table for some grapes, and tried not to focus on her marred arms. Luna figured that they had already fucked now, so Merlin was stuck with her anyway. She wasn’t putting on a shirt just to sit in the kitchen. Putting clothes back on at Merlin’s seemed like madness unless it was some sort of sexy costume.
“Sav sounds perfect,” she told him, thinking it would go better with pastries and fruit. “I should come by and visit the club some night, check out the talent again.”
Merlin popped the cork and came to fill the glasses. “Absolutely. I’d love to see your face there,” he said with a smile. “And how are your lord and lady faring? Well, I hope.” He picked up his glass and raised it in a small salute to her before drinking. “Excellent choice with the wine.”
“They’re both excellent,” Luna smiled, though she tried not to think about Peitho telling her to undress in front of that boy. (Luna knew that if she’d told Peitho she didn’t want to, Peitho would have had her stop. She was sure of that.) “They’ve been away for the last few days in Boston together, so I’ve had the apartment to myself. I’m working on building up my library there.”
“Oh, well that’s always an admirable work in progress.” Merlin of course approved greatly of building libraries, of any kind. “Must be nice to have some space to yourself sometimes.” He glanced at her as he plucked a few grapes from the bowl, and tried not to imagine how painful gaining those scars must have been. Much better to distract oneself with libraries and blowjobs.
“Oh, another old friend of mine is returning to the city too. Freyja, of the Norse pantheon. Are you familiar with many outside of the Greeks?”
“Somewhat,” Luna admitted, but made an unsure face to go along with it. “I’ve gotten my head around almost all the Greeks and their relations, but other pantheons are more of a work in progress. Freyja, she’s… love and war, right?”
