"Why thank you. And of course, likewise. You are looking very lovely tonight." He held her hand at arm's length to look her up and down. That skirt was very flattering (although tight. Not so easy to get his hand up. A challenge!)
"And what do you have here?" he asked, gesturing at the folio. "Is this what I think it is?" He had his bestiary out on the book stand, ready and waiting for a new entry. It would be the first such entry in years, and he was quite excited.
Luna liked the way that he admired her, and she hoped that remained once she was out of these sleeves. “Why thank you,” she demurred.
She held out the folder to Merlin and nodded. “I hope it’s interesting,” she told him.
The report not only included a detailed physical description of the gashadokuro, the ear-ringing that preceded and accompanied it, the forest area it had appeared in, and the weather and moon phrase, but also details of the prayers and sacrifices she had performed to Hermes earlier in the night, in case those were relevant to why it had appeared. She still thought there might be a connection there. It was quite a neatly put together two pages, and Luna had worked hard on her wording and making sure it read clearly.
He tried not to take it too eagerly, because he had a certain dignified image to uphold, but he flipped it open and skimmed it, his brows rising in interest. “Well, that is… very interesting,” he mused. “Help yourself to a drink, my dear. Make me one too, actually. Did you draw this? It’s a lovely little sketch.”
