WHO: Clio, Padraig, Patrick, Will Stutely
WHEN: Thursday afternoon
WHERE: Clio's brownstone
WHAT: A tale of two Patricks
WARNINGS: Just Patrick being an idiot

Clio had spent some of the morning trying to accurately describe the differences between Padraig and Patrick, but honestly it was just one of those things which had to be experienced. She had stuck to facts, explaining that Patrick had come to the US in 1740 with the first diaspora from the first famine. It meant that while Padraig had experienced the second famine, the English colonisation of Ireland, the Easter Rising, the Irish Republican Brotherhood, and the Irish civil war, Patrick hadn't experienced any of the more modern and tumultuous Irish history - though Patrick had worked as an abolitionist preceding and during the American civil war. Padraig also hadn't become as much of a holiday and a symbol for plastic paddies to get drunk and fight each other, while Patrick looked like he belonged on a parade float. It did a lot to explain the difference between them.

When the knock sounded, letting them know Patrick and Padraig had arrived, Clio turned to Will and she chuckled, "ready for the two Patricks show?" She went and opened the door, and was immediately nearly blown over by Patrick rushing in to hug her, and a much more calm Padraig, walking into the brownstone and closing the door behind him. "Oooof," Clio said, grinning. "Did you have a nice flight, Padraig?"

"It was suitable, thank you," Padraig nodded.

"This is my boyfriend, Will Stutely. Will, Padraig."

"Jolly good to meet you," Padraig said, extending a hand to shake. "I expect the airport reception would have been better if Patrick didn't insist on walking beside me, calling me 'Dad' as loudly as possible."

Patrick spit out a laugh and then he threw his head back and giggled. "Oh my god, he's not even telling it right!" Patrick wheezed, "he comes through security surrounded by the garda and- Hahahhaha! And I- HAHHAHA"

"Patrick, honestly," Padraig sighed.

"SHHHHHH I'm telling a story! So I held up this sign and it said 'DADDY' in huge letters!" Patrick doubled over laughing. "And he had to come up to me! In front of the garda! He's a fucking foreign dignitary! And- HAHAHA he turns to them like 'this is not my son'," Patrick said, in a mock-stuffy accent. "And I said- You didn't say that last time, Daddy! Oh my god, the looks on their faces!"

"This is a sex thing, isn't it?" Padraig asked, his voice flat. "I'm just getting that now." To which Patrick howled with laughter and Clio turned to Will.

"See?"
