Tragos had left Melpomene's a little before any of her sisters arrived, and had broken a few speed limits on his way back to the gym. Nothing about today was easy, nothing was comfortable, nothing was right. He'd spent about an hour at Melpomene's, and it had been an hour spent worrying that he was taking too long and that the sky would crack and fall when he got back. An hour watching over her as she slept with her head in his lap and her arm wrapped round his legs, fingers gripping his trackpants tightly even when the rest of her was dead asleep.
He kept looking at her stomach and wondering are you gonna end up cursed like Marcie too? And worse Is Kaden?
He had not messaged Kaden yet. If he'd picked up his phone, the only message that would have come out was DO NOT SEE APHRODITE AGAIN and he wasn't a complete idiot, he knew Kaden would be a defiant little shit about it. Right now Kaden was in the middle of a movie marathon with his friends, it was a pretty safe bet he wasn't going anywhere tonight. Kaden could wait till Tragos had his head screwed on right, about all of this.
Ares was not waiting for him specifically when he got back, but Ares was in a mood and it infected everything. Tragos put his head down and went back to training, then buried himself inside the guts of a stolen car till Laz told him to get outta there and get some sleep. More training, first thing in the morning.
Sleep was going to have to wait, though. Marcie was the only person who would ever come close to understanding what being in the middle of Melpomene, Aphrodite and Ares was like, and he wanted someone else who kind of got it more than he wanted sleep. They didn't even need to talk about it, just being round her was enough, knowing she knew. He wasn't sure he could've put it into words anyway.
He gave her a crooked smile as she opened the door. "Aww, did I wake you?" he asked, with a teasing edge to it as he wrapped his arms around her blanketed, half-asleep self and pulled her toward him.
