"You sound like a very conscientious young man. It's kind of you to think of us when they told you of something that was such a terrible time for us all." David sighed and shook his head. "It was a very difficult time, yes. Letting them go to Wales without me was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But their mother and I knew what would happen if we didn't. Sometimes I imagine what it would have been like if they'd been taken as children... it defies comprehension."
It was dreadfully saddening, remembering how hard it had been without the twins and Bridget.
