Much gave a short shrug at the idea of Alan's forgiveness, an angry, unhappy, in-over-his-depth kind of shrug. Maybe Alan would and maybe Alan wouldn't, it wasn't for Much to say, was it?
"Yeah, mate, you said in your big apology post you weren't 'handling things well'," Much said, and Will did have his sympathy for that. It didn't sound like Will making excuses; it sounded more like he was coming clean. "You been drinking and fucking cos you can't sleep? How long has that been - well, that's the first you've mentioned that to me, you know that, right? And... who else have you pissed off other than Alan??" He felt a pang of guilt - maybe he and Will had talked about this, the night he'd gotten shitfaced in the Fox after kissing Marcie. Had Will told him how much he was struggling, and Much had just bypassed it, absorbed in his own distress?
