"Hecuba. That's a cool name. She is a very good dog." Of course the name meant nothing to her, but it did sound like a fitting name.
Rather than head out into the cold with Luna so underdressed, Tinsel turned to the living room and eased her down onto the sofa. She bit her finger in thought for a moment. Her wool coat would be too heavy on those wounds, but Luna couldn't leave the house dripping in blood.
"Are you okay if I find some things?" she asked, looking up at Luna's teary face. "Hecuba! Come here girl, stay with Luna while I fetch things, and I'll find you the very tastiest bone to eat, okay?"
A dark voice in her head said, I know where to find a bone, but she quickly dashed that thought away. She was a long way from feeling like she needed to slice anybody up to dispose of evidence, even for Luna.
