Much could perfectly picture Will Scarlet leaning against the bar for a second, eyebrow cocked and one corner of his mouth turned up in a suggestive grin. Perfectly recall his voice asking You gonna play the field? the moment that Erato's delicate thumb brushed over his knuckles.
He'd been honest when he said that it hadn't been something on his mind, that he just wanted to find Marian and maybe after that, he could start figuring out what his life was going to look like next. And even if he had been thinking about it, he wouldn't have tried anything with Erato. Honestly, she seemed a little out of his league.
Her touch was nice, though. He wasn't going to shy away from that, or pull away from the conversation. "Well... We decided to take some space before we hit the heartbreak stage. I'd done something that hurt her feelings - I'd kissed someone else," he found himself admitting, curious about an outsiders point of view, and not wanting to pussyfoot around it. He could admit what he'd done, he wasn't afraid to do that. "And I understand why that hurt her, obviously, but the someone else was my friend, my mortal friend, and she's... dying. And a while ago my friend tried to kiss me but I turned her down, because of Leila, so the kiss was like a do-over, because well... we're not going to get another chance. So I couldn't regret it, not really, and it was going to turn into one of those things that couples just can't get over and become all bitter about, and we can't do that. We're both in Rob's gang, and that friendship, that's gotta be more important, so we decided we had to try and save that friendship first. So she's gone away for a while, for some space, and we're still going to try and be friends again in the future. So it's more heartache than break, you know? I think we'll be okay, eventually. My real heartbreak is for my friend, and for Marian. I can't do anything for either of them right now, not at all."
