He knew who Aphrodite was. Even before Marcie had said she was staying with Aphrodite, Kaden had read about her part in the Trojan War, and after Marcie had mentioned her name he'd looked her up to try and find out more. It was hard to tell what on Wikipedia was going to be accurate to her actual self, though. Like, he'd read Hecate's page and there was nothing there that matched up with the deeply unsettling awe of laying eyes on her for real.
Aphrodite was a bit like that but it wasn't deeply unsettling awe he felt, but deeply unsettling attraction.
"Wow," he breathed, as she smiled at him, his mouth open, his eyes not wanting to blink. "I'm... Kaden," he said, finally remembering his own name. "I'm Marcie's friend. She said it was okay if I came round?"
