Who: Peitho & Hephaestus
What: First time meeting
When: Wednesday evening
Where: Hephaestus' apartment
Warnings: TBD
Hephaestus was not used to women wanting to spend time with him, much less suggesting that they sleep together. Which is how he found himself standing in the middle of his living room with precisely no idea of how to prepare for Peitho's visit. Although the more he thought about it, the more a glass of wine started to sound appealing. At least he wouldn't be sitting there like a plank of wood.
He located a suitable bottle and two glasses, pouring a measure for himself and draining it quickly. A slight warmth spread through his limbs, and he found himself starting to relax a bit. And it was during this slightly relaxed state that the doorbell rang.

Hephaestus had always intrigued Peitho. Their contact had always been minimal but perhaps it was that distance that made him all the more interesting. She had stood on the sidelines and watched the marriage of he and Aphrodite, being one of the Love Goddess' handmaidens at the time despite Aphrodite's youth in comparison to Peitho. And from that side she was able to watch and understand that while Hephaestus lacked the beauty that her mistress did, he made up for it in other ways. He created beautiful things and that was far more complex and impressive than simply being desirable. Quite frankly, Peitho believed that the Smith of Olympus deserved much better than Aphrodite, so why not go and meet him properly and offer herself at the same time?
The navy blue dress she wore was simple but infinitely flattering and she drew off her coat as she rang the doorbell and waited.

Hephaestus rose and opened the door, ushering her inside. "Hello, Peitho. You look lovely this evening. Can I take your coat?" He closed the door behind her.
"Can I offer you a glass of wine?" he asked, gesturing to the second glass. In all honesty, he was surprised she'd spoken to him at all. He remembered her being a companion of his wife, but they had never had a conversation, or anything like that. But he was curious to see what might occur.
"So tell me," he began. "What brings you to my humble home this evening?"

"Wine would be lovely," Peitho told him, offering her coat. She wasn't going to need it until she eventually left anyway, and that might not be until morning. She looked around his apartment as he got her the drink and then turned back to look at him.
"I've always had an interest in you," she told him in response to that question, her dark eyes on his.

Hephaestus hung her coat on the stand in the hallway, then made his way to the kitchen to pour her wine, handing her the glass when he'd finished.
He raised an eyebrow. "Have you?" he asked mildly, a little pleased at the thought. For so long, he'd thought that no one had an interest in him beyond anything but a craftsman. So the idea was rather nice, to say the least.

Peitho took a sip of the wine after it was handed to her, her eyes running across his body. "You have talented hands," Peitho told him, already coming closer. "A girl has to wonder how you'd use those hands elsewhere..."
She slipped her wineless hand into his without waiting for any sort of offer. Personal space was not the goddess' strong point and the idea that Hephaestus might not want her jumping him immediately didn't even cross her mind.

"Thank you," he replied, flushing slightly. "But as to that, I could not say for sure. It has been a...a very long time since I have been with a woman." The most women would not have me was left unsaid.
Her hand in his startled him, but it only showed on his face for a moment. At this small distance he could smell her perfume, and it was both intoxicating and slightly unsettling. He was waiting for the other shoe to drop, as the expression went.

"Well," Peitho said, taking a drink from her wineglass, "I promise to be gentle." She leaned up closer to him and whispered, with a small smirk, "at least for the first round."
Peitho was aware she had him now. Some didn't like her and that was fair, but she was seduction and persuasion and most fell victim to her charms in the end.

"With an offer like that," Hephaestus said softly, "how can I refuse?" He finished his wine and set the glass down on the counter.
"I shall follow your lead, if you'd like," he added.

Peitho smiled softly, hiding most of the deviousness from a poor man. "Lucky for you, I'm an excellent leader."
She kissed him then, gentle and soft, as she wrapped her arms around him.

Hephaestus smiled, a small, real smile, as he had not done in a long time. "I have no doubt that you are," he agreed.
He returned the kiss, hands tentatively settling on her waist. He was starting to feel more comfortable as he spent more time around her. And if he was honest with himself, he very much enjoyed that feeling.

The blacksmith of Olympus was definitely responsive to Peitho, which was exactly what she liked in her men (and her women) and she drew her body closer to his as they kissed. Her plan - as far as Peitho was capable of making plans - was just to get them to the bedroom to start with. From there she'd see. If it had truly been a while since Hephaestus had bedded anyone then this all might be over far more quickly than Peitho would like. But that was alright, because Peitho was willing to find other ways to satisfy them both and she could stay there all night working on his... stamina. He was a god, after all. There had to be benefits to Olympian status. (But then, Hermes' supernatural recovery times was probably just Hermes being Hermes.)
Peitho put her glass aside so she could have both hands free, drawing away from him a little so that she could slip out of her dress and leave it in a pile on his floor. She met his eyes, now clad only in her lacy red underwear and stilettos. "Won't you show me to your bedroom, Hephaestus?" she asked, her voice low and her very best version of seductive.

Any question Hephaestus might have asked died in his throat. She was breathtaking, she wasn't laughing at him, and she didn't seem to be going anywhere.
"Of course," he replied, slightly dazed, but taking her hand anyway. "It's this way." And he slowly led her down the back hallway, opening his bedroom door when they arrived.
