"It's going to be fine," she assured him, giving his hand a squeeze.
She climbed out of the car and then ran around to open the door for him. He probably didn't need that kind of assistance, but she couldn't help it, really. The urge to take care of him was overwhelming.
She walked with him, hand in hand, up to the brownstone. The second they were through the door, they could see the 'WELCOME HOME WIL' banner Ella had made and decorated herself, strung up over the living room entrance. Ella squealed happily and attached herself to Will's leg the second he was through the door. "Be careful with Will, darling," Clio cautioned.
"I'm so careful," was Ella's response, muffled by Will's leg. "I missed you!" she informed the man.
Patrick stood in the background, though he was clearly taking care to keep his expression neutral and not 'dear god, you look terrible', which was difficult for Patrick since he tended to express literally everything he thought. "Hey, Will," he said easily, "glad you're back."
