Perhaps Ares' retaliation was the most obvious answer in the world, but it was a short sighted answer. "Ares would have to know I'd know he was behind this," she said, eyes narrowed, watching Qebhet's own face like she could scry answers in the furrows of her brow. "He knows the power I have to make his existence miserable. Why make such a cowardly and inefficient move?"
Sure, it had killed her. But it didn't end anything.
She would have thought that when Ares moved, he would aim for more impact than this.
