Light, thought Hecate, and felt a torch form against her palm. She raised her hand, careful to keep the flames from getting too close to Peitho's ceiling, and looked down at Luna, bathed in torchlight.
"Don't be afraid," she said, putting as much effort as possible into her voice to stop the echoes of howling and the rumbling of thunder from taking over. As it was, her voice still echoed oddly, even in her ears, as if it was coming from several places at once. It occurred to her that mortal Luna may not have it in her to witness Hecate at all, right now. "Luna, can you see me?"
