Elaine nodded, and followed through to the back room, leaving her ornament on the counter. She liked the cosy cottagey feel to the place. She always loved kitchens especially. Kitchens were where mothers would settle by the hearth and tell stories to their little ones once the work was done.
"The cake looks delicious," she said, leaning forward. "I love to bake too. I grow my own fruits and vegetables, mostly. I can't seem to get banana trees to take, though!" She watched the three women potter around each other with the ease of long familiarity. This place felt comfortable and safe, and she especially liked that there were three of them.
"As I said, I don't want to break off from what is happening, merely encourage a different ending to the story. My friends are the Merry Men, and they are suffering at the malicious hands of the Sheriff of Nottingham- so you see, already they are not entirely real people to follow their own fates to begin with. They must succeed over villainy because they always do, but the how is very obscure right now. And I feel that they are close enough to my domain that I can claim them, and give them a touch of Hope."
