Leila had been entirely calm on the message she'd left Much, and she'd had to type it out as talking in person would have given her voice away----and now as she paced the living room she couldn't stay still and her eyes were on the door.

The morning after that night spent from the party had gone exactly as Much had promised. He'd gotten up that morning extremely early, pills obtained and breakfast before he had to head back to the parsonage. She had thought nothing of it, she knew how herbs worked in olden days, how there were things women could do to help alleviate the possibility of being pregnant, but she had never had been in that position until now. Never.

Right now she was so sure that this could destroy a really good thing. Very little scared Leila, but the closer this relationship of theirs became, the more room there was for everything to go tits up.
