It didn't come as any surprise – Tuck had mentioned their mother had been worse than he could've imagined, and Daniel had alluded to an unhappy upbringing – but the description of Norah's cruelty still sickened Will. Two innocent little kids struggling to come to grips with the loss of a parent, and she'd given them only fear and shame. It was awful, and enraging. Perhaps Norah'd had reason to be frightened to Tuck, not knowing what he was, but, god, to take that out on her own children. Quietly, he said, "I'm glad the two of you got out of there. Sounds like you both took good care of each other."
