"Of course he could have," Clio nodded. "I couldn't find anything like that, but it doesn't mean-"
"Did you find a death certificate?" Tuck interrupted, his expression stony. "Did Jeremiah have a death certificate?"
"No," Clio was quick to reassure him. "And we looked. Both of us looked. But it does mean we don't know where he is and the trail- There isn't a trail-"
"Christopher will know," Tuck interjected again. "They were close, Christopher'll know where he is." Of course he might not. A lot of things would have changed in thirty years. Maybe they hated each other. Maybe Jeremiah moved out of the country to get away from all of it. "If there's no death certificate, he's not dead," Tuck said, refusing to believe it.
