Tuck jerked away from Will's touch, a tad too roughly. He stumbled a bit, before righting himself, and then glancing distrustfully back and forth between both of them. They didn't look like whatever they had to tell him was good news.
"He's not been arrested?" Tuck asked quietly. Scarlet didn't have to be hurt to be imprisoned again. Tuck had nightmares about it rather often, Scarlet getting dragged away from him and locked up in some god awful prison somewhere in the middle of the goddamn country.
"He's not been arrested," Clio soothed. "Tuck, please?"
Tuck heaved a heavy sigh, but he moved over to the lounge room and collapsed onto a sofa. "Alright I'm sittin'."
"I was working with the PI," Clio explained, "I was an archivist for years and- It's not important. We found Christopher, Tuck. His name was changed to Daniel Collins. Jeremiah's name was changed to Ezekiel Collins. Only- Tuck, there's no records for Ezekiel after 2007. No employment records, no tax records, no income, nothing."
Tuck just stared at Clio like he was back in that goddamn frozen bathtub.
"Tuck, do- do you understand what I'm saying to you?"
