Athena noticed the lack of swagger, wondered at it. Achilles' excessive pride had always been his downfall, but it has also been his strength: it took such a reckless ego to drive a man headlong into singlehanded battle against an entire army. It had probably served him well in Hollywood, too, where uncompromising vision could be a virtue.
She wondered what had happened to it.
