"Well because you- you like weird things. I thought you'd laugh." She shrugged and blushed a little, fiddling with the edge of one of the short lace gloves she was wearing to hide the bruising across her knuckles. "I like making you laugh."
The band was striking up a new song, and she brightened up. "Oh! I know this one! Moon River! Will you dance with me?" They didn't have to go all the way back to the dance floor. She swished her skirt in time with the beat and hummed along a bit. She wasn't an amazing singer by any stretch, but she could hold a tune well enough. "My mom used to sing it to me when I was little. Please?" She held her hand out to him to join her.
