It was difficult for Leila to say not to Robin, it never felt like she had any room to after what he'd saved her from. Leila usually did not have any other sort of feelings to get in the way of anything she had set forth to do in this life. No one else mattered-----until Much.
She grabbed onto Much's hand and held it there. She squeezed it harder when she spoke up. "Robin I wouldn't lie to you," and she felt a little strangled saying that, "But, I can't be a chess piece for you to use against Gisborne or anyone else. We need to do this together." Leila was not going to blame Robin, but it was the first time she'd stepped up to tell him she couldn't do this.
Robin didn't even meet her eyes, and had he been in the right headspace he'd know she was right---but he was not there and he felt like she'd stabbed him. "What went wrong the last time?" She hadn't told him all of it. He wasn't willing to admit out loud that he'd failed her.
