Marcie's stomach growled as she saw all the food. She wasn't all the way recovered from being starved for two days, so she helped herself to some fruits that looked refreshing and delicious.
"That's nice of you to say," she said, popping some blueberries in her mouth. "I honestly didn't think I would see him ever again, but I'm so glad I did. And I have you to thank for that. And your home is beautiful." There was nothing wrong with a bit of flattery and gratitude to her benefactress, to keep her good mood.
