'Paying no attention' was not Antigone's style either. Nor was turning the other cheek. Nor was walking away. Although the difference there between her and Joan was that while Joan could consider that tactic worthy, Antigone couldn't.
Or, never could before.
She could force it though, right? Force herself to change? People changed all the time. (You're not people though, she thought to herself. People aren't compressed into their shape by the belief of thousands of other minds.)
Except of course they were. Culture and history shaped mortals lives too, and both of those things were heavily based on belief.
She hadn't had enough coffee, or sleep, or painkillers, for this line of thought.
"I have no idea," Antigone said. "Something... good? I'd like to do more good."
