Joan smiled, amused at Antigone's restraint. "My ears won't catch fire if you swear," she said, teasing a little. But her smile faded as Antigone told her what had happened, and who had done the damage.
"Wow. That's heavy," she sighed. "It's come to that, huh? You're lucky it wasn't worse. But I get it, sometimes you just have to stand up and tell them to back down." She had to respect it, no matter how almost suicidal the action could have been. "And he crushed your hand? I hope you got a hit in too."
