Ares waited in the hotel room. The front desk had just called up to let him know Luna was coming, so he checked himself in the mirror. If only that gash over his eye wasn’t there, it was ruining the whole look, making him look imperfect, whatever Dite had said. He straightened his grey silk tie in the mirror, and checked his teeth, waiting for the knock.
He felt smug about this. He was certain the mortal was doing this without Hermes’ knowledge, and it amused him to think that he was getting one over on the other god. And although he had promised the girl would come out of tonight in one piece, he was still brimming with anticipation for what he could make her do.
As the knock sounded, Ares strode to the door and opened it, a serene smile on his face.
“You look ravishing,” he said, keeping his tone light, as he stepped back to let her in. “The latex suits you.”
She was trying to keep her nerve, but he could see it on her. He was going to have fun tonight.
