"Of course he has, darling," Rhiannon said warmly. She believed it too. She didn't understand why David thought she had anything against him. She didn't, she just thought he was going to be over his head. "I can see that."
She took a seat near the bed on Addy's side. "How are you both feeling?"
"I got to eat today," Addy said with a small smile. She still had her feeding tube in, but they were introducing food by mouth slowly. "Just porridge and it was kind of plain, but it felt so good. So good to eat something."
Rhiannon's heart felt like it was shattering to look at how bone-thin they were. How excited Addy was over a bowl of goddamn porridge. "They just don't know how you like it," Rhiannon said with a soft smile. "I'll get some brown sugar and bring it in with me next time I come visit."
