It took everything in Marian not to leap at the sheriff then. Instead she stayed where she was, feet planted hard.
"What's actually your end game with us?" Marian asked him, with genuine curiosity. "You know you can't kill us, not permanently, just like we can't kill you forever. So... convert us from our criminal ways? But surely you know that torture doesn't work very well for that? It hasn't worked so far. And surely you're smart enough to realise that being a criminal to catch criminals isn't morally upright?"
