"Oh come now, let's not be rude! This is a social event!" he said, leaning in to try to kiss her cheek. That was when Tuck decided he was going to enter the room, and he pretended to slam right into Malcolm.
"Oh, heavens!" Tuck said loudly, "I am so sorry," he laughed, his insides rebelling. "Here, let's get some ice on that shoulder," he said, taking Malcolm's arm and pulling hm towards the kitchen.
"No, it's fine, father," Malcolm smiled.
"Don't be ridiculous, you might bruise. I insist!" And he pulled Malcolm towards the kitchen. It wasn't private at all, the entire congregation would be able to see them, but they at least wouldn't be able to hear.
