Marian, sitting on the end of the second row cause his gaze and followed it, turning to look behind her. Her muscles stiffened and she slowly stood up, very aware of the knife in her boot and how quickly she could get hold of it.
She kept her gaze on the Sheriff the whole time and was about to go over and join his happy little group when Tuck appeared beside her. "He won't do anything now," Marian told her friend, grabbing his hand and giving it a quick comforting squeeze. "Not with these innocent people around. He probably thinks you're leading them down a bad path and they need to be protected from you. Like he thinks about me."
