The woman's question surprised her, and Antigone paused, looking back at her. The faintest smile touched her lips at Luna's kindness. "No," she said. Maybe they were all as bad as each other.
There was a saying, no man is an island, and maybe that was true and they were all connected, deep under the water.
Deep under the water that was full of women on liferafts, just floating, doing what they could to navigate the violent currents that flowed between all these goddamn islands. Each of them convinced it was too dangerous to reach out in case the act pulled them, or their would-be rescuer, into the deadly water.
Antigone wouldn't risk pulling anyone else down with her. Just like this woman didn't. Just like Romeo wouldn't.
