βYouβre gonna hate this but: yeah, it is,β she said with amusement, looking over at him. βEvery time I take it out on errands Iβm sure Iβm going to destroy it. Butβ¦ so far, so good.β She pulled out onto the road, turning the music back on but keeping it a lot more quieter, just some background so she could still talk to Will.
βI have a sort of plan,β she told him, eyes on the road now instead of him, the glow of streetlights bathing the interior of the car. βYou were talking about stars andβ¦ well, I havenβt seen real stars since I lived in New Mexico, and Iβm not going to drive us all the way upstate into the mountains or something- but,β she said, raising a finger to indicate that the excellent idea was coming, βI did think of somewhere cool.β Her eyes flicked over to him momentarily. βBut donβt get too excited, because itβs not real stars. And it's a bit of a drive.β
