It walked among the people in the crowd, milling about, communicating their small lives before entering the church. Today it looked for Patrick. Lucifer had said, go for Patrick, he's nervy and impulsive, he'll give you a bigger reaction.
So today it wore the image of a tall man, broad-shouldered, a warm smile but eyes of ice, and when it saw Patrick it gave him that little nod that the Baptist used to give, one of recognition and affection.
