Iestyn wasn't used to turning to his father for comfort yet, and he hesitated. David had proven himself supportive and loving since they had arrived, of course, but it wasn't quite the same.
The question was answered for her almost, though, because David had come home from church and found the bedraggled, abandoned bouquet tossed aside on the stairs. He looked at them in confusion, and picked them up to see if there was a card.
