"Too long," Marian said, because she couldn't remember anymore how long she'd been alone for. Not all of her time in America- she'd seen a few of the boys separately, had found them here and there, but when Guy had showed up... yeah, too long. Before the internet came along and made it so much easier to find other people in this massive nation.
She tried to read Will's expression, but Stutely had always been a tough nut to crack, even for Marian, who felt like she saw through them all so easily. Will kept things close to himself, but she sensed there were secrets there, things about their time apart he wasn't ready to talk about- might not ever want to talk about.
Marian could well understand that. She would have never told them about Guy if he hadn't been stalking her from city to city, if his presence and that secret didn't make him a threat to them all.
"And how about you?" she asked gently. "How long had it been since you last saw any of your brothers?"
