"I'm definitely guilty of collecting books, so I get that." She smiled at him, less of the seduction act and more genuinely. "Although my collection is mostly in the corner of my room and nothing like this." She gazed up at the books behind him again.
When Merlin handed her the box, Luna accepted it with surprise. "Oh," she said, looked at the little present. "You didn't have to do that." It had felt like such a shitty birthday this year - although not that last year in LA had been any better. Twenty-six just felt tireder than twenty-five so far.
Delicately she unwrapped it and then opened the ring box. "Oh," she said again, drawing out the ring and slipping it onto a finger. It was slightly too loose on one and she switched it to another before admiring it, the gold and stones set out against the slightly faded arrow tattoo on that finger.
"This is beautiful, she said as she looked up at him "Thank you so much."
