That lifted the corners of Francis' lips in a hint of a smile. "I work at my church, running the breadline which I helped start during the Great Depression. I volunteer at a few animal charities as well. I live with my husband, Andrew. I'm pretty simple." As he spoke, he sort of picked at the bandages on his wrists without noticing it. "I spend more time with animals than people I think."
