It was a bloody pain trying to eat one-handed, having to chase the food around his plate with a fork, but one mouthful of that pie and Stutely decided it was worth it. The filling was as rich and hearty as he remembered. Probably better than, since you never could be sure what a penny-pinching innkeeper would try to sneak into the meat back in the day. Tuck had outdone himself again. (That thought brought another twinge of guilt.)
"Rob told me he kicked her out," he said between mouthfuls. "I told him he was a prat. You hear from her? John only said she was staying with a friend." And that was all John would tell him, weirdly enough. It didn't sit well with him. Robin was their leader, but Marian had just as much claim to their loyalty. It wasn't right that she was stuck out in the cold, even if Rob wasn't ready to speak to her just yet.
