"You look pretty good yourself," Luna told him with a tilt of her head. "I like the stars."
As he moved to watch out the window beside her, Luna turned her gaze back that way as well. When she focused her eyes on the distance she saw the city with its skyscrapers of glass and steel, saw the small cars moving in neat lines below, saw the edges of clouds lit up by the sliver of moon behind them.
When she focused her eyes closer, she saw Will instead, standing beside her, watching the same world as her. She saw her own lips quirk up at the edge, an almost-smile but not quite.
"Wishing I was somewhere in one of those buildings," she said, nodding towards one of the dark office blocks even though she knew it would be unclear which of the many buildings she was talking about. "Somewhere quiet and easy, where I could just sit in the dark and relax."
