Joey did indeed feel much more calm, even though he had to refute what Iestyn said. "Brett came over to me. He heard Olivia call me 'daddy'. He- fuck." Joey closed his eyes and took a steadying breath. "I met him when I was seventeen," he explained. Not even Patrick knew all the details, just the broader strokes. "I had run away from my parents and I was homeless and sort of couch surfing? And the people I stayed with would throw parties and Brett was at one and I just fell head over heels. I moved in with him after only knowing him for two weeks. It was so stupid."
