Chazaqiel liked wandering the park during his lunch break. It was such a peaceful spot, a splash of greenery paved with wide, inviting walkways and edged with picturesque brownstones. Not that he was thinking of such things! No, like any self-respecting demon, he was stalking the park as a predator, in search of weak minds to subvert, and not at all allowing himself to get distracted by the beauty of Creation or the small miracle of the delicate summer rain and the way it cast a fresh, dewy glow on everything it touched, or-- no! Evil-doing! Evil-doing was obviously his sole focus!
A clatter and a heavy thump on the path ahead of him jerked Chazaqiel's attention away from the cherry blossoms whose beauty he was studiously not admiring.
