Sloth happened to glance in the right direction as the lighter flared, and she narrowed her eyes, squinting to try and make out who it was. She was getting those "there's an immortal nearby" vibes though, so she could make a fairly educated guess.
"Yeah, but you better beat it," she said, stuffing the money into her pocket.
"I got other people to meet," he replied, and she looked up at him with her usual sullen expression. Aware that Envy was watching, she stepped closer into his personal space and spoke softly, holding eye contact. He bent his head a little to hear her better.
"Listen. I like you. I really, really cannot be fucked having to find a new guy, you know? Guys like you are hard to find."
"What?" he said, just as quietly. "I mean, I don't normally with customers but... I could make an exception..."
Sloth leaned in even closer, almost close enough for a kiss, dropping to a whisper. "I just don't really want my brother to murder you."
"Uhh- wait, what?"
"Yeah, so you better get outta here," she replied, looking around his shoulder to where that spark of the cigarette burned.
