"Of course you are," David breathed, the name making the connection. And realising there were two people standing on his doorstep. He cleared his throat and snapped back to reality, looking at the boy- man- standing next to his daughter. Daughter.
"And I'm-" Iestyn started, and David nodded.
"I know. Yes. Of course you are. I expect- you must have such a lot of questions. I-" He paused again, still at a loss, looking back and forth between their faces, then pulled himself together with a snap. "I'm making tea. Please come in, won't you? Make yourselves at home." He turned back in and went to the kitchen, rattling about collecting two new mugs from the cupboard. "How do you take your tea?"
"Milk, two sugars," Iestyn replied, looking at Aderyn, waiting for her to lead the way.
