There were a couple of responses Famine had been expecting, chief among them was Patrick apologizing. It wasn't his fault, his feast day was always hard on him, and she was fully prepared to chalk it up to belief screwing him over harder than most.
Him kissing her, however, was not something she had anticipated.
"Patrick-" she began. "Patrick, what, why-" She didn't really have words to articulate the thoughts spinning her head. The last few times this had happened, emotions had been running high between them, like they were right now. The one time they had allowed themselves to get carried away, Patrick had ended up not speaking to her for weeks while he beat himself up for cheating.
"This is a bad idea," she said quietly. "I'm not here to be an outlet for like...whatever emotional overflow you've got going on. I know you're not doing it on purpose, that's not how you are. It's just never ended well any time we did this."
