Dani had been forcing herself to get out and about more lately. It was good for keeping her mind occupied, since she still wasn't sure what she was going to do with herself. She'd signed on as a substitute for the school system, as a back up, but the thought of going back to teaching full-time just filled her with dread. Still. She was young, she had time. She'd figure it out.
Today, she was at a farmer's market, browsing the offerings to see if anything caught her interest. She'd been working on changing her diet as well, more fresh fruits and vegetables, less takeout. She'd found some great potatoes, carrots, and some lovely fresh eggs. Local honey and apples as well, it was turning out better than she'd thought it might.
She was at a booth selling fresh bread when she heard the voice next to her. She looked up and smiled at the man, her mood buoyed by the good weather and the friendly atmosphere. "It really is," she agreed. "I'm enjoying it as much as I can before winter sets in. And adding to my treasure trove." She gestured to the canvas bags she was carrying.
