In Norah's experience when someone said she had nothing to worry about, that they just had to tell her something, or that things might change if they told her something, she tended to do the exact opposite. She was worried and her anxiety levels were through the roof. Norah had gone through life continually worrying over her brothers, and as much as she hated to admit it she was always worrying they would find something better to do with their lives than to worry about their failure of a little sister. She had no idea what Lachlan had to say, but in Norah's mid it couldn't be about bunnies and flowers. She was absolutely certain he was going to tell her he was moving away and would never see her again and to not expect to hear from him. Her mind had a funny way of playing on her deepest fears.
When she arrived at Stephen's house she knocked once before turning the doorknob. When she found it locked she reached into her purse and used her key. She called out as she opened the door and looked around to find her brother and uncle. "Oi! It's me. Where are you lot?" She locked the door behind her and proceeded to the living room, feeling immediately at home. It never failed that whenever she visited it felt like she had never left.
