Who: Orpheus and Eurydice
When: August 8 and the days following
Where: Watkins Glen State Park
What:: Camping!
Eurydice had been looking forward to this camping trip for weeks. She had wanted to go much sooner, but as Orpheus still had work to do she instead planned for their trip. After much research and considering all the pretty state parks and campsites in the state, she had settled with Watkins Glen. After that, she had begun planning how they would get there: Train, of course. Then there was the matter of who would look after the house and water the plants while they were out. Their kind, elderly neighbor had graciously obliged.
When the day finally arrived for their departure, Eurydice had woken up early to make sure both backpacks were packed and ready. She went over the details with their neighbor one last time before they set out, and a few hours later she and Orpheus arrived at the train stop. She looked over her map and scanned the area before pointing West. "It's that way. Looks like it's just down the road." It was already early afternoon by the time they arrived, but they still had a little while before they needed to find the rangers station to check in for their campsite. As they walked Eurydice took Orpheus' hand, intertwining her fingers with his. "I'm so glad we're finally doing this. I've missed this." She was excited. She had every intention of staying as long as Orpheus wanted to stay, be it only a day or two weeks or a month. She had nowhere to be except right there with him. When they did finally arrive at the campgrounds they had to walk through one practically beautiful trail to get to their campsite. "Oh," she said in awe, "Let's wait here for a little while. It sort of reminds me of where elves would live."
