Alexander had wanted to have everyone who mattered over to his house for dinner, and after a bit of schedule juggling, they finally managed it. Alex had never professed to be a great cook, but a simple meal of roasted lamb and vegetables, along with some bread, good wine, and cake for dessert, that he managed to pull off pretty well.

The oven timer dinged and he pulled the lamb out, letting it rest and cool a bit before everyone arrived. He wasn't nervous about tonight, exactly, but these were the three most important people in his life. He was hoping they'd all get along and like each other, at least a little bit.
