If Aphrodite thought that barb was going to injure her, then she was sorely mistaken. But at least it was reassurance that they were both on the same page about whatever this thing between them was.
If Peitho wanted romance she'd go home to her husband. (Perhaps Hermes would be out with some young beautiful thing, but he'd always come to her the moment she called.)
It did slightly annoy Peitho not to be liked, even if it was by Aphrodite. She was seduction and persuasion and it bothered her to watch it shot down so easily. But perhaps Aphrodite felt the same thing sometimes.
"Then let's go," Peitho said, dropping the charm from her voice and draining her glass with one hand as the other pulled out her phone.
She gave the driver Aphrodite's address (she loathed that she knew it so well) and then, once they were out on the street waiting, she turned to the other goddess and put her hand against her cheek. There was something both tender yet not about it - there was soft fingers and movement, but there was force behind it, turning Aphrodite's gaze towards her.
